In previous blogs we have explained making sand moulds using wooden patterns. Core Assembly is a different way of making sand moulds for iron casting. Simply put a mould made in this way is like a 3D jigsaw puzzle in negative - the technique requires great skill and takes years to master.
About Hargreaves Foundry
Hargreaves Foundry have been iron founders for over 100 years. We reflect our product. Like cast iron we offer a reliable and dependable service. Our traditional ways of doing things are tried and tested. But we are also versatile and innovative, regularly meet new demands from our customers, and are constantly refining our processes to improve both our products and service.
The centre of our operations is in Halifax, Yorkshire, where sales, administration, pattern making, casting, finishing, painting and around 6,000 sq. metres of warehousing and storage are all on one site. We have technical sales staff operating across the UK and Ireland. We also have a full time office in Shanghai staffed by Chinese nationals and supported by regular visits from our quality engineers.
Hargreaves Foundry is a family run business that values an honest, direct and friendly approach to our business and our customers. We are proud of our open, team oriented and friendly working environment and our hands on approach to getting the job done.
