Foundry staff have a blast

Not many of those attending had tried their hand at clay pigeon shooting before so, at least to begin with, most of the clays escaped to be shot another day. However, as skill levels increased, accuracy improved and clay pigeon casualties rose.
Eventually Ezra Hinchliffe ran out the winner with 33 hits closely followed by Mark Owen and Jonnie Ritchie on 32 and 31 respectively. Clearly the younger end, untrammelled by failing eyesight, aching joints or slowing reactions, had the advantage.
Presentations were made to the top marksmen at the Spring Rock, accompanied by food and a choice of beverages that did not include two fingers of Red Eye or Sasparelli.
So everyone had a lot of fun, nobody shot their foot off, most of the clays escaped unscathed – all in all, a great day out.
