News: Pyramid of Arts at the Foundry

16 August 2011

Hargreaves Foundry is delighted to be involved with Pyramid of Arts. The organisation is 21 years old now and sets out to inspire and engage people across the arts community in Leeds and highlight the abilities of people with learning difficulties.

A group of artists with learning disabilities have created models of animals in polystyrene. We are going to create castings from these models. We had a test with one of their models to ensure we could deliver the desired result. This worked out well and so we received a further 16 polystyrene models to cast. Eventually they will form an installation destined for public gardens in Leeds. (www.pyramid-of-arts.org.uk).

There is still a lot of work to be done to prepare the models for casting and we will be fitting them into a very busy foundry schedule as soon as possible. We will keep you up to date as the project progresses through the production stages.
