News: Hargreaves is saying Merry Christmas with the "Unselfie"

This year Hargreaves is giving aid not Christmas cards, by participating in Giving Tuesday's Unselfie promotion

"Selfie" is the word of the year according to the Oxford English Dictionary, this is the trend of taking a picture of yourself and then sharing it via social media. Tuesday 3rd December 2013 has been named as Giving Tuesday- the opening day of the giving season. This year to promote Giving Tuesday and in response to the Selfie trend people and businesses all over the world are posting "Unselfies".

An Unselfie is a way of promoting a good cause that you are passionate about via the power of social media. Type #GivingTuesday or #Unselfie into an internet search to see how effective the campaign has been. Hargreaves is participating in the Unselfie campaign to raise awareness for the China Earthquake Relief Fund.

Hargreaves have strong links to China, Hargreaves Drainage have been importing cast iron drainage products from China since the 1990's and currently employ two Chinese nationals to work with Chinese suppliers and maintain quality standards and consistency of supply.

The China Earthquake Relief Fund supports relief efforts through organisations such as China Youth Development Foundation, the Shanghai United Foundation, and others working in the area to provide emergency assistance and long-term relief to those in need after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the Sichuan province in China on April 20, 2013.
