News: MGMA recommend lower level gutter installation

07 August 2014

The Metal Gutters Manufacturers Association (MGMA) has issued a new guidance document offering recommendations for lower level gutter installation.

The guidance document aims to address the issue of snow loading on gutters which has become more of a concern following changes to Part L of the Building Regulations which has resulted in more highly insulated roofs coupled with heavy snowfall in some areas in recent years.

Traditional recommendations for high level gutter installation to avoid overshooting of rainwater have been considered by the MGMA and the guidance document explains how lower level installation addresses both requirements.
