Elizabeth Tower and the Houses of Parliament

In the last few years, we have been involved in restoration work on the Elizabeth Tower and the Palace of Westminster, designed by Charles Barry, who, coincidentally, also designed Halifax’s town hall.

Manchester Council required 50 solid, cast iron planters in three sizes: 800 x 800mm, 1,000 x 1,000mm and 1,200 x 1,000mm. They were destined for different locations in the city centre and needed to be portable by forklift so that they could be moved around for different events.

QA Hospital, Portsmouth – Halifax Soil EN 877

The Queen Alexandra Hospital is a large NHS hospital in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The requirement was for a cast iron above-ground BS EN 877 drainage system with excellent fire ratings and acoustic properties to carry out the refurbishment of their large car park.

Manchester Town Hall – Bespoke Premier Rainwater

This Grade l listed building was completed in 1877, many of the original Cast Iron drainage components are still present on the building today. In 2022, the building is to undergo a full refurbishment process; this includes replacing a number of existing ornate rainwater pipes and fittings.

Sally Matthews
– Pit Ponies

We were lucky enough to be commissioned to cast 6 Pit Ponies, each around 6 feet from head to tail & weighing 2 tonnes, by another very talented artist & sculptor, Sally Matthews, as a tribute to the pit ponies in the South Wales coal mining industry.
